A 30 - 60 - 90 is triangle is drawn with the small leg of 3 units. A perpendicular drawn on the large leg from a distance of 3 units from 30° angle. Find distance between the top of both perpendiculars.

Give names to all vertices.
Step 2:
Observe triangle AEF,
Angle A is 30° and AE = 3
⇒ AF = 3 sec(30) = 2√3
Observe triangle ABC,
Angle A is 30° and BC = 3
⇒ AC = 3 cosec(30) = 6
Step 3:
x = FC = AC - AF
x = 6 - 2√3
